Hi, I'm Allison

I'm a registered dietitian passionate about developing supportive,
empowering relationships with clients. I love working with clients who are in need of a compassionate presence as they move toward a more peaceful and attuned relationship with food.

I work from a trauma-informed, weight-neutral lens and take an individualized approach to each client.

Allison Rieck
MS, RD, LDN

I work with clients of all genders ages 14 and up. I am LGBTQ+ affirming with experience supporting neurodivergent folks.

Education & Professional Background

I earned a B.A. in English from Messiah College and an M.S. in nutrition from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Before getting my degree in nutrition, I worked in publishing and remain a self-identified word nerd.

My decision to study nutrition was in part motivated by watching a family member work through eating disorder recovery and having so much respect for the hard work and courage required in that process.

Clinical Specialties

  • Eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID)

  • Disordered eating

  • Intuitive eating

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder

  • Gastrointestinal conditions

  • Hormonal concerns (PCOS, perimenopause, menopause)

  • Body image

  • Diabetes

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Neurodivergent-related eating challenges

I have been supporting adolescents and adults with eating disorders for over ten years. Before joining Food Wonderful, I provided IOP-level eating disorder support as well as outpatient support to a wide range of clients, including athletes and others in performance-based work. I am a voracious learner, and over the years I have done additional training in ARFID support, body image work, and sports nutrition. I also teach college courses in nutrition counseling and eating disorder nutrition support. Outside of work I enjoy reading all the books, long talks with friends over hot drinks, and spending time with my niece and nephew.

My style is kind, collaborative, and client-centered. The values that shape my work include autonomy, compassion, curiosity, and honesty. I am patient with the process of growth but also love to celebrate the small (big) wins along the way. My hope is that clients leave our sessions feeling heard and seen, encouraged, and empowered. It is an incredible joy and privilege to be invited into the brave work my clients are doing and to be able to support them in that.
